How to hide sponsored tweet

Recently arrived in Italy sponsored tweets that, just like Google does with pur research, propose us tweets and contents sponsored by company or other business activites, according to our interests.
All very interesting and useful BUT NOT if, in a few days, I found my page covered by sponsored tweet that numerically overlooked those one of profiles that follow.

So here’s a guide that explains step by step what to do to solve this annoying, at least for me, tiny problem and Delete Sponsored Tweets.

1- First step is to log into your Twitter profile

2 – Next you have to Click the GEAR ICON in the upper right corner and select Settings.

3 – NOW Click on Security and Privacy, scroll down and turn off the voice Sponsorship (or Sponsorizzazioni)

At least you have only to save the changes and you will not see sponsored tweets appear. Non anymore.

Twitter sempre più come FB

Twitter cambia e lo fa diventando più completo ed intuitivo, anche se ad alcuni potrebbero non piacere le troppa similarità con il concorrente FB.

Si tratta di un restyling del layout che mette in evidenza alcuni elementi, fino a poco tempo fa secondari

  • Testata, adesso le dimensioni arrivano a 1500 x 500 px, occupando quindni tutta la parte alta dello schermo
  • Avatar, anche in questo caso le dimensioni cambiano ed arrivano a 400 x 400 px

Tuttavia le modifiche che catturano l’attenzione degli osservatori più attenti riguardano la dimensione dei singoli tweet e le impostazioni a questi dedicati. Infatti è possibile adesso evidenziare un singolo tweet scelto dall’utente che andrà a posizionarsi nella parte alta, avendo così un maggiore rilievo e restando all’attenzione dei propri follower indipendentemente dalla data in cui si è scritto.
Altra modifica riguarda la messa in risalto dei follower, posizionati sulla sinistra e con le proprie immagini di profilo ben in evidenza.

Twitter cambia aspetto

Infine la modifica più interessante, cioè la diversa dimensione dei tweet pubblicati. Twitter ha infatti deciso di utilizzare l’aspetto grafico per rendere immediata la comprensione del peso di ogni singolo tweet.

Le dimensioni, maggiori o minori, sono infatti influenzate da più elementi

  • Il numero di preferiti associati al tweet
  • Il numero di retweet
  • Le risposte ottenute

Appare evidente una maggiore attenzione alla capacità di creare engagement all’interno della propria rete e valutare in maniera più immediata il peso che i contenuti pubblicati hanno per i followers. Si tratta di cambiamenti che portano certamente novità interessanti anche se, come detto ad inizio articolo, la scelta di virare verso un’interfaccia simil Facebook potrebbe non piacere a tutti.

Di certo resta il mio social preferito.

Considerations about Facebook and WhatsApp

Today, February 20 , 2014, Facebook acquires WhatsApp , the most popular IM client in the world. The amount paid out by Zuckerberg is $ 19 billion. Many considered the amount too excessive but there are some valid reasons that I’ll try to explain in the article.

Numbers
In four years, WhatsApp has reached nearly 500 million users worldwide, most of them are every day active. The main difference compared to other social networking platforms is that, WA need to have a sim to be used, then a number, related to their profile. In this way we are sure to talk about 450 million of real users and not, as is often the case for other social platforms, fake profiles.

Growth
WhatsApp grew up their empire based on a new (and quite different) assumptions. In fact, otherwise from other traditional social networks, WA interconnecting people to each other’s from new dogmas and constraints, first of all the actual knowledge between profiles.

Big Data

Another part of interest, or the biggest part of it, is related to the big data. With the purchase of WhatsApp in fact, Facebook buy a community of 450 million users. Contacts, whose identity is certified by the sim (which binds to the profile number WhatsApp) , intersected with all the data from the social networks, Facebbok or Big Blue, that allow Zuckerberg to define a clearer picture of the relationships between social profiles, an even more precise look on their interests, ties and identity, real and virtual (even if there is a separation between them yet).
So Facebook becomes the largest database in the world and not even start to ask ourselves about  the privacy. The concept itself has changed over time, has been weakened. The problems are always the same, as well as the answers. The main concern, maybe, could be if we consider that now all these big data are property of a single entity, Facebook.

The  stronger , bigger and now without enemies, creature of Zuckerberg.

Oggi, 20 febbraio 2014, Facebook acquisisce WhatsApp, il client di IM più diffuso al mondo. La cifra sborsata da Zuckerberg è di 19 miliardi di $, da molti ritenuta eccessiva ma che ha delle valide motivazioni che cerco di spiegare nell’articolo.

I numeri

In quattro anni WhatsApp ha raggiunto quasi 500 milioni di utenti nel mondo, la maggior parte dei quali sono attivi ogni giorno. La principale differenza rispetto ad altre piattaforme di networking è la necessità di avere una sim, quindi un numero, legati al proprio profilo. In questo modo siamo quindi certi di poter parlare di 450 milioni di utenti reali e non, come spesso accade con altri social, di profili fake.

La crescita

WhatsApp è cresciuto riuscendo a creare un proprio impero basato su assunti base nuovi e del tutto differenti da quello dei social network tradizionali, interconnettendo tra loro le persone sulla base di dogmi e vincoli particolari, primo tra tutti l’effettiva conoscenza tra i profili.

I Big Data

Un’altra parte dell’nteresse, se non la maggiore, è relativa ai cosiddetti “big data“. Con l’acquisto di WhatsApp , infatti, Facebook entra in possesso di una comunità da 450 milioni di utenti. Contatti, la cui identità è certificata dalla sim (che lega il numero al profilo WhatsApp ), intersecati con i dati del social network azzurro che permettono a Zuckerberg di arrivare ad una fotografia più chiara dei rapporti sociali tra i profili attivati, un quadro ancora più preciso dei propri interessi, dei propri legami e della propria identità reale e virtuale, se ancora esiste una separazione tra le due.

Facebook diventa così la più grande banca dati al mondo e non poniamoci nemmeno il problema della privacy. Il concetto stesso è mutato nel tempo, si è indebolito. I problemi sono sempre gli stessi, così come le risposte. La preoccupazione principale, semmai, può venire se consideriamo che adesso tutti questi dati sono in possesso si un unico soggetto, un Facebook più forte, più grande e con un rivale in meno da cui guardarsi.

Google has signed an agreement with Lenovo to sell Motorola Mobility company  for $2.91 billion. However Google will keep a big part of 17,000 (and over) patents it acquired when it bought Motorola in 2012 for $12.5 billion. So, after the first “Google company phone” made by Motorola, the Moto X, and his little brother Moto G, the story seems finished.

A victory for Lenovo? Yes, bur not just for it.

In fact Google still keeping  Motrola’s patents, which it can license out to other companie as HTC, LG and Samngug. Yes cause, meanwhile, it must be note that Samsung, which makes more Android phones than any other manufacturer, is getting more cozy with Google. In particular, the two companies have signed a 10-year patent deal agreement which involves Samsung to feature more Google services in its smartphones in the next future.

So, at the end
– Google won’t be an hardware so decide to sells the Moto company
– Lenovo buy for some bilions the only “Moto mark”, an established and respected brand, but not his patent’s
– Google won’t be an hardware builder but it will realize the Googl Glass

No one could blame a normal consumer if it is having trouble keeping track of all the different versions of the Galaxy S4 that the company has released during 2013:

Now SamMobile write that Samsung in near to release yet another new variant that will arrive in time for this Christmas. Be ready for the Galaxy S4 mini La Fleur Edition.

“La Fleur Edition” will be basically a Galaxy S4 mini but it comes with a floral design on the back cover and will be available in red or white, specifically thinked for ladies or..guys whit a particular fashion sensibility.

That’s all? Not, for sure.

Sure is that a company which when you release so many variant of a single phone, it will have whit them. I’m just thinking about device’s updating but there are so many problems. Now the answer that I really want to do Samsung is if this will be the last version of S4. Will be?

One Bilion Cents

So many ways to pay 1 Bilion Dollars

In August 2012, technology world were rocked by a decision for a patent infringement lawsuit that impeach Samsung having copied patented features of Apple’s technologies, and awarding Apple $1.05 billion in damages.

One year later, november 13, Samsung has delivered to Apple’s CEO  30 trucks full of 5 cent coins. Lee Kun-hee, of Samsung Electronics, told media that his company is not going to be intimidated by Apple, defined a group of “geeks with style” and that, if they want to play dirty, they also know how to do it.
Next has also advised how to spent nickels:

You can use your coins to buy refreshments at the little machine for life or melt the coins to make computers, that’s not my problem, I already paid them and fulfilled the law.

How Apple will respond? i’m curious, stay tuned.

HTC win on Samsung..at least

 Samsung (in Particular the Taiwan division) has been fined with a penalty of $ 340,000 for slandering through a marketing campaign to say the least “aggressive” and “deceitful” the Taiwanese manufacturer. This is the decision of the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) Taiwanese who decided the application of sanction against the subsidiary of Samsung, located in Taiwan.

The case.  Samsung was started an advertising campaign that gave bad impressions about consumers’ views direct to the companies rivals as HTC Corp., on local online forums, written by students, paid students, called to spread through the social networks of the negative comments about HTC, praising, at the same time, Samsung’s products.
